TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Each section will be run as a straight final at the Showground.

All age restricted sections are for Solo Vocalist/Musician performers only. Competitors will be judged on Vocal and Musical Ability (60), Stage Presentation and Professionalism (20), Choice Of  Material (10), Dress (10), for a total mark out of 100.

The Duo/ Group sections must have two (2) or more competitors. Duo/Group will be judged on Vocal and Musical Ability (50), Harmony (10), Stage Presentation and Professionalism (20), Choice Of  Material (10), Dress (10), for a total mark out of 100.

The winners of the Open Age Restricted Sections will “sing off” for the Overall Winner. A different song must be performed in the Overall Section to the song in the age restricted section.

Backing CD’s will be    permitted, but there is to be no backing vocal at all in any contestant’s backing track. Penalty is disqualification from the competition. This rule will be strictly enforced. Please take note of it. BACKING TAPES OR MIDI FILES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.

NO BACKING BAND WILL BE  PROVIDED. You may accompany yourself or have one other instrumentalist accompany you. No backing vocals to be performed by the accompanist.

PA, microphones, leads etc will be provided. No bass amp or keyboard will be provided. You may set up an electronic keyboard before the section begins if need be. No drums will be available or be permitted to be set up.

There will be three (3) judges for each section. The three judges’ scores will be added together and then averaged for a total score out of 100. The judges’ decision is final. No protest will be accepted or entered into under any circumstances.

Score sheets will be available at the completion of the competition and presentation of awards.

The Novice sections are for competitors who have NEVER won a FIRST PLACE (1^st) in ANY SOLO SECTION OF ANY VOCAL COMPETITION. Competitors in the Novice Vocal may also compete in the open age restricted sections.
